New Dell 15 5584
My Dell Inspiron that I purchased in 2010 lived a long life and finally passed on in June 2019 - after nearly 9 years of faithful service. I purchased this new Dell 15 5584 directly from Dell and I really like it - it is fast, smooth, quiet, and just really a great computer. I hope it has the same longevity genes as my earlier Dell because if it does we will have many pleasant computing experiences together.

Dell inspiron 5584 is not well optimized with Windows 10
Lots of issues from performance shortage, battery issues, charging issues, and even screen issues. To summerise the experience, I literally had to do all the hard work to get my laptop running as it should but senseless errors keep coming. Poor overall optimization and performance. I advise not to buy this model unless you are up for difficult challenges.

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/21/2021Performance is ok but poor assemblyWe bought it in a hurry since our kid's laptop just broke, and needed one ASAP. It was delivered within a reasonable time, but jack for charger is so loose and sensitive, kept getting battery low warning. So we ended up not moving this laptop at all from one spot at home, this is not realistic, and we are very disappointed.Michelle

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/28/2020Iffy if I'd buy it againReceived this quickly so kudos for the speed of picking and shipping. Likes would be the solid state memory. Quicker than my old laptop. Dislikes - The case looked like it had been kicked down a hallway. Scratches and discolorations. The lousy Microsoft demand that you HAVE to sign in everytime you turn your computer on. I've tried a dozen times after searching for solutions to not having to use a password or pin number to actually use the computer but the lousy (I'm being kind, the words I'd choose would be deleted) microsoft trash is a real pain. Add in for some reason this Dell you HAVE to select Number Lock prior to signing in if you use any numbers in your sign in. Why Dell? The number pad has no other choices on the keys. Stupid to have to turn on the number every time you start it up. Not too impressed with the back lit keyboard, but it's not too annoying. Really, the only thing that's good enough is that this isn't some crummy Hewlett Packard. I've 3 of those that each lasted about a year and a half before dying without any warning. I'm sure there are better laptops out there for less money, but after those 3 Schiffy laptops from HP I decided to spend a bit more and try something different.Jk

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/04/2019A completely satisfying experienceI needed a faster, very capable laptop. This Inspiron 5584 with a 256 SSD does not disappoint. I spent a lot of time trying to decide between a 1 TB HD and a 256 SSD (quite a difference in size). I took the plunge and went with the SSD and I couldn't be happier. It's lightning fast. And the computer itself is competent, capable and intuitive to use. I'm very pleased with the experience so far.MrsFlash62

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/30/2019Good but not perfect yetThe laptop is exactly as described and functions well and the general quality of the product is good so I rate it very highly. I didn't give it the top rating because of the following small matters which could easily be addressed by Dell to improve the customer experience: 1. The tracking system for deliveries is inadequate and does not assist is telling when a product will be delivered. 2. I purchased a system with a SSD for programmes and HD drive for storage, yet the laptop was not pre-setup to store files photos music etc on the HD. 3. the laptop has twice "lost" the Audio driver so could not produce any audio. The Dell diagnostics helped find and install it again. I think the problem probably related to turning on and turning off the MaxxAudio Pro system (as both times it occurred after using Maxx). But apart from these little issues I would certainly recommend Dell.Ian

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/16/2019Dell Inspiron 5584 Good Laptop But Not Fully AssembledI bought the laptop for work. It only needed to connect to the internet, so I could use remote desktop. It would constantly lose connection and reconnect, and that made it unusable. I turned it off and opened it up and the wifi antennas were not even connected to the wifiDan

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/14/2019New Laptop reviewI love my DELL...this is my second Laptop and it's because of my experience with the first laptop (13" Inspiron) that I purchased the current one (I have always owned DELL PCs before then). I would like to finish registering but your registration App has a flaw: It does not associate the city of Tallahassee Florida with the Zip code of 32308. Not wanting to input false data, I have exited the process until someone corrects the problem. Thank you!Ted

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/02/2019Powerful Laptop for a Low CostI bought this laptop (5584) because I needed an upgrade from my previous atellite laptop that I had had for nine years. My old PC still ran fine but I needed a new one that I could bring to class and use at home for light gaming and miscellaneous things. So far, this has been an amazing computer and is a serious upgrade from my old PC. The Intel i5 8th gen, 8gigs of memory, and the 256GB SSD allow this thing to run perfectly for whatever I do. It is very fast for a sub-700 laptop and well-worth the price. Here's a list of a few games that I have tried so far, all play excellent with very high framerate: Stellaris (Paradox Games), Minecraft, Elder Scrolls III Morrowind, Terraria. IT does not run Rainbow Six Siege well at all, though, so do not buy this computer if you are looking for something solely for gaming. The intel graphics card just can't handle it. I would probably buy the inspiron with a Radeon graphics card instead. Aside from gaming, this computer can multitask very well. I can have multiple Microsoft Office applications open, browsers, and iTunes and it never loses speed. Overall, a very clean, well-built and fast computer at a reasonable price. I will definitely be purchasing from Dell in the future if this 15 5000 ever decides to die on me.Keegan
