The spires are too short and do not go into the ground far enough. Whenever one side of each piece goes in, the other pops back out. After about an hour of frustration and not making any progress, I decided to return them.

    Still no trouble after a little over 5yrs!
    Brought in store years ago. It is a pain to get in at first, but once you figure it out they're great! I found that if you hammer one side and the other starts coming up just go back and adjust the angle. It may be easier to use a spade or putty knife to start the line, especially if you have rocky soil like us. So far its lasted 5 years and no breakdown except the few spots the lawnmower went over it. It was easy to replace the damaged ones with the few leftovers. Looking to buy more to change an old border. May wait until they clearance it in winter. Wanted to post a pic, but it wont allow HD photos from my phone and dont know how to change it.

    Good Strong border that looks great!
    This replaced a border of flexible divider that had been there for years. It took us longer to take out the old than to install this new border. It borders a grouping of evergreen bushes and deciduous bushes and flowers dividing it from the remainder of the front yard. It sits a little lower than the old border but being newer and put together in pieces we believe that this looks better and will stay in the ground better.

    I love these! I have them to hold in rocks around my firepit, hammock, picnic table, and hot tub area. They do a great job and are super easy to hammer in with a rubber mallet and stay sturdy for already 7 months. Very happy.
