too uncomfortable for an elderly lady
I was not able to use it in the shower. Just sitting on it fully clothed I found it too hard and uncomfortable. It is a good idea but I will search for a similar item which is comfortably padded.

    Shower transfer bench
    Fast delivery which was very much appreciated. It went together quickly but we are having trouble figuring out how to lock the seat. Will call next week to get some help. Very sturdy and well made.

    This is a pretty good chair! Its aThis is a pretty good chair! Its a little flimsy or than some one pieces that I found. But its still does the job. The person using it feels very safe and it has been a game changer with her shower routine! And its a lot more affordable than other designs out there

    Glides fine, Allows water to leak out
    Assembling the bench, seat back and seat was easy and intuitive. The gliding mechanism is fine for my 93 year old Mom, at 100 pounds soaking wet, but I'm not convinced that anyone 200 would find it "glides". I still have to exert some pressure moving her along, but at least it holds her weight well. The attached Velcro strap to secure her as she showers is somewhat helpful, but I wouldn't leave unsupervised anyone who's been incapacitated enough to need this item. The insert shared like a keyhole is really removed and helpful to wash one's "undercarriage". The only drawback is the width and layout of the bench makes it so that half of the bench is inside and the other half is outside the tub, which makes sense. Unfortunately, the shower curtain can't close while the bench spans the tub edge, so water leaks out from the bench seat getting splashed by the showerhead, and being channeled by the gliding tubes. We bought a hand held shower head to mitigate that issue, but it still leaks a bit. I'm not sure how this can be avoided, other than to cut the shower curtain to a height just above the bench structure. Still, it's safer than depending on a grip bar for the one who's showering. One more thing is that the user needs to lift his/her leg over the height of the tub edge as it glides from the half portion that's outside the tub, and into the half portion inside the tub. No hip or mobility issues, and it'll be fine. For my Mom, she broke her upper arm losing her balance, so it works for me.

    Well thought out product.
    This chair worked great for the bath tub because one can transfer into the tub and manage legs/feet while in the chair both inside and outside. It is lightweight so it can be moved easily and is still sturdy. Both the back and arm are strong enough to use to support user. Legs are adjustable so the chair can be made level even if the floor and bottom of the bath tub are different heights.

    works as advertised.
    I wish it was able to go about an inch higher. It barely clears the side of our garden tub. With my weight (250 lbs) it drags going across the top.. But it is worth the money.

    Works great.
    The chair is a good quality chair. My mother in law is heavy set and is not able to move her legs a lot. This chair helps my father in law in helping her bathe. I looked at other chairs and this offered the best measurements for both the individual and the bath tub.

    Great for getting in and out of the tup.
    I like the idea behind this chair but even though it's weight limit is high, it is not easily used for a heavy-set person. It's not worth the extra money for the cut-out seat to help with washing because the seat is not large enough to accommodate using it for it's intended purpose - to better wash yourself in that area - over the solid seat. It is also a little awkward trying to get the shower curtain around it so the shower does not run outside the tub. It is great for easily getting into and out of the tub.
