It's shipped in a bubblewrap paper bag.
When I read the earlier reviews, I was wondering how people were getting them with holes. I was thinking "how could something puncture through a box and proper packaging?". Well, now I know. It's literally shipped in one of those little bubble wrap packages you can get from fedex, the type you'd send maybe clothing or something like that in. If you're reading this, you know about waterbeds. And you know how fragile a freeflow mattress is. And you probably also know how packages, no matter what the claims of the shipping company in question, are handled (thrown kicked who cares bash smash pinch). So the mystery of how people are getting them with holes has been solved for me.
Did mine have a hole? No. By some miracle, considering the condition of the package when I picked it up. I was floored, and all but certain it was damaged. Ripped parts of the package, feet marks and what I think was some kind of tire mark across it.
The item in question is of standard quality. Kinda thin for my liking. Corners are well reinforced, and seems to be an okay mattress. But holy heck, you need to put this thing in a box with packing around it. Make it cost a couple more dollars if need be. It wouldn't be the end of the world. You're playing russian roulette on this purchase, unless they change that.

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/10/2014Previous one lasted 15 years. The previous WB mattress I had lasted 15 years, so I hope this one will too. If you can get one a week or two before you need to install it, I would recommend that you do. Remove it from the package, open it up, and let it stay for a week to 10 days to get rid of the vinyl odor. Don't forget to get a bottle of conditioner to add when you fill it.MrFerret
