Physician recommends this monitor for home use
I am a physician and I have mild hypertension. I looked for a home blood pressure monitoring device that was accurate, easy to use, and durable. I carefully read many reviews and concluded that the Beurer BM 55 fulfilled all of these requirements and it did so at a very affordable price. When I received my monitor, I was very pleased with the simplicity of operation and ease of use. I have a relatively large and muscular arm, and the cuff fit very well and the measurements were consistent and easy to read. I highly recommend this monitor for home use, based upon my initial impressions.

Seems to Work Pretty Well, but . . .
Item seems to be fine, seems to work well. The TWO STAR rating is for the delivery--Fedex lost it, then found it, then beat it to a pulp and left it in my open garage and drove off without as much as a, "here you go." I only knew it was finally delivered because I happened to look out the window and see the van driving off down the driveway. If I'm honest, I can't say for sure who was responsible for the pummeling of the package but you can draw your own conclusions. One week late, sensitive electronic equipment--if it fails me I'll return it.

    Fairly accurate BPM monitor
    It's so hard to find an accurate at-home blood pressure monitor if one exists but through trial and error, I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. However, to get consistent measurements, I had to move the cuff to my right arm. When I try to measure on my left arm, the readings are all over the place and the "resting indicator" is always red no matter how still I am. On my right arm the indicator is nearly always green. I just leave my cuff at a comfortable size and slide it on/off my right arm when measuring, instead of adjusting the Velcro each time. The colored hypertension scale on the left side of the monitor is helpful too.

    A well-built device, simple to use
    This is our first blood pressure monitor. It is compact, sturdy, and fairly easy to use once set up. The initial setup took us a little while to figure out. The screen which displays readings is not a touch screen. We are not sure how to have access to the stored readings and we did not find instructions in the manual. We like the one-touch design, making daily use simple. Shipping was problematic and can be improved.

    Easy to Use, Accurate, Extras, Battery Operated
    Light, easy to use, accurate, sturdy, and well built. Reads BP and pulse rate, remembers 60 readings for each of two users, lets you know if you are relaxed enough for an accurate reading, and has an indicator showing if there are heartbeat/pulse irregularities. Can store it in temperatures -4% to 104% F. Note: this BP machine is AAA size battery operated without a means to plug in, but up to 100 readings can be obtained on one set of batteries and it can use rechargeable batteries.

    Having the symbol showing if sufficiently relaxed for an accurate reading is a big plus to me. A great deal of research comparing various manufacturers and models made me feel confident this would be accurate. Previously I have purchased and immediately returned several other brands due to the inconsistency of the readings given when pressure was retaken, not a few points, but 30 or more when taken within a few minutes. I have been pleased to find with this beurer BM55 the readings have been consistent. The display is very easily read

    This blood pressure monitor is very easy to use. Readings are large and easy to see. Comes with a nice case to keep everything together. Batteries are included and monitor seems very accurate. Would definitely reccomend if you are looking for an uncomplicated monitor.
