I like this pot. It gives the look of being metal without the weight or rusting. It is nice and light with a hole in the bottom for drainage. It would look great with a large Palm for the deck.

Faux Galvanized Plastic Planter
This Better Homes and Garden product, a 12 inch diameter planter is a faux galvanized metal look which is rustic/ contemporary look with no worries about rusting since it is plastic. The neutral color will fit into most decors. Personally, I think it would look more unique and rustic if they had designed it to look like a galvanized pail or mini trash can. Label states it is weather and fade resistant with a light weight, durable finish. At first I saw no drain holes which you would need for a live plant. On further inspection I found there is a center plug you can pull out from the bottom to open a drain hole. I think the instructions for drain hole should have been included on label, otherwise I would have been very unhappy having to drill out drain holes.

    Very attractive, heavy duty plastic, planter.
    This is a really nice, very attractive, large planter -- it's made of a heavy duty plastic, which is supposed to emulate the look of galvanized metal. I really don't think it looks much like galvanized metal, it has a sort of greenish tint to it that galvanized metal doesn't have, but I actually like that better than a galvanized metal look. The greenish tint gives it a kind of antique look that I find very attractive (see photo). My only problem with the planter is that it arrived with a large crack in the bottom. (see photo) The bottom has a nice plug that you can open if you would like the planter to drain, which is useful if you plan to actually pot a plant in it. But if someone planned to use this planter for another purpose, i.e. to put ice in to store drinks for a party, then the crack in the bottom would be problematic. That's why I took away one star in my review, because this planter is attractive enough to be used for other things than just a planter. But as a planter it is perfectly functional, even with the crack.

    Nice large pot
    This pot is nice and big and it's not heavy. I was looking at other pots that were made out of clay and they were already heavy on their own so I could imagine how much heavier they were going to be with the plant in soil in it so this definitely fits the bill.

    This planter has a galvanized faux metal look on the outside with a darker interior finish. It does have a drain plug in the bottom. We chose to put our fern in this planter on our back deck as shown in the pic I uploaded& it looks great that way. In my opinion this planter could also be used as a small trash can inside the home or perhaps on a front or back porch or maybe just to store a small water hose in. You can also use this planter to display a beautiful artificial arrangement of plants or flowers so there you go, that is my tips for the use of this planter. Either way you can't really go wrong with this planter. It's very lightweight even though it looks heavier& it sits level on a deck or porch. Overall this is a very well made planter considering it is made of plastic with the look of metal.

    Love it!
    I love the BH&G Galvanized Maddox Pot! It is way better than I expected it to be! I thought it was going to be galvanized but it is actually plastic, which is not an issue at all. It is super light and looks perfect on my front porch!

    Pretty accent piece
    I received the galvanized plastic planter in the mail. It was well packaged but came with a small crack in the side. I didn't report it because for what I am using it for it doesn't matter and can be easily hidden by turning it around. There is a plug in the bottom for drainage. And even though it is plastic it looks like metal. I expect it to age better also.

    Huge but lightweight
    I was amazed at the size of this pot! I knew it was 16” diameter but it's also very tall. The material is sturdy, but light. I plan to plant a small tree in it for the deck and it will be easy to move around. It has the look of galvanized metal and matches my tin bucket planters well, but is actually nicer looking. I would recommend this planter for any porch or deck, it's beautiful!

    This thing is cute and huge! I like that its plastic and not too heavy. It says its weather and fade resistant but even if the surface does fade it will still look good I'm pretty sure.
