Cute!
I really like this bamboo dinnerware set. The colors are very pretty and the set feels sturdy. We like to eat outside in the summer so this will be my set to use for that so I don't have to worry about my ceramic plates being dropped or getting broken. This set is easy to wash in the dishwasher. The bowls are a great size and the plates have raised sides so nothing will slide off. I highly recommend this great set of dinnerware!

The Dishes are Massive!
Pros: Beautiful - the colors are all saturated blues and gorgeous. The biggest plate is blue, the smaller plate is like a marble pattern, and the bowl is blue. All the outsides are hammered-texture. Large - you can fit any meal you like on these dishes. Seriously! They're huge! The burger & fries in the photo is a 1/2lb burger and probably 6oz of fries! It looks like a Kid's Meal on the Dinner size plate. But it's great for pizza! No overhang for my XL pizza slices. Raised Lip - The "bowl-esque" shape of the dinner and salad plates give it a shallow bowl-like quality, which contains the food within the plate. No runaway french fries here! Sturdy - These are solid pieces. No warp or bend to be felt at all. They aren't heavy, but they are not lightweight either. A very well made piece. Cons: Large - They're huge!! This could be a huge con for people who don't visualize portion sizes well. Using the burger meal as an example, my brain says, "gee that plate is really empty... I need to put a bunch more fries there!" and then I end up eating a pound of fries! I know that what I put on there is the correct portion size for me because I measured it out prior to cooking... many folks don't do that. This could lead to people eating much more food (and many more calories) than anticipated. Raised Lip - The raised lip on both plates leads to slight difficulty in using your fork to 'cut' a piece of food (you know, using the side of the fork to separate a piece of chicken, or fish for example). It is awkward because of that lip. Not a huge thing, but was enough for me to be aggravated after a fried fish dinner. They Don't Sit Flush - They aren't neatly stackable. Because of the shape of the plates, they don't nestle down inside of each other, like regular plates do. This means that the stack of plates and bowls are about a foot tall when stacked on top of each other. so far, I haven't found a good place to store these, which is frustrating. And because they are difficult to store, I will probably end up tucking them away in a far cabinet somewhere and sadly, forget about them. (The bowls stack the best out of the three types of dishes). All in all, they're gorgeous, but impractical. I don't foresee that these will be my Everyday Dishware, but I can see that they would be useful for certain meals or purposes. I'd only recommend them to a friend if they had lots of cabinet space, or just really liked funky dish sets.

    Absolutely my favorite dinnerware set.
    This 12 piece Better Homes and Gardens melamine dinnerware set is hands down my favorite dish set I have ever owned. I received this set and have been using it for almost a year now and I absolutely love everything about it. The set features 4 large plates, 4 small plates, and 4 bowls. The large sized plates have plenty of space for a full sized dinner. The smaller plates are still large enough for lunch, smaller portioned meals, and sandwiches. The bowls are much larger than expected and hold a variety of things like soups, cereal, or salad while leaving space and room for you to eat without things falling out of your bowl. The design on these plates is a beautiful marbled pattern and my 7 year old stepson loves to use them, he always requests the pretty plates. The melamine used to make these plates is safe for the dishwasher which I love, however unfortunately one drawback is they are not microwave safe. I have accidentally microwaved one and it got pretty hot, much hotter than I expected. I do not recommend using them in the microwave! The only other drawback I have is after 1 year, they do have a tiny amount of scratches on them from knives. I try not to use the knife too firmly when I use these plates, but inevitably they have gotten a tiny bit scratched up. Overall though, they have been very durable, they have been dropped without breaking and they are amazingly lightweight. Washing them is super easy because they are lightweight and nothing sticks to them. Also I haven't had any issues with staining. If you are considering this dinnerware set, I would recommend it as long as you don't mind not using them in the microwave.

    Gorgeous Shatterproof Dinner Set
    Anytime Better Homes & Gardens comes out with something new, I am all over it like white on rice. I have absolutely fallen in love with just about everything they have come out with and this 12 piece melamine dinner set is no exception. Melamine is a great material for plates and bowls and cups even, simply for the fact that it is shatterproof so during the summertime when you want to eat outside on the patio or have it by the pool you do not have to worry about stuff breaking. I particularly love the design of this set. The marbling in the blue tones is stunning and it matches everything I have in my kitchen perfectly. I like that it's not the same pattern on every single piece, it makes it cohesive without being boring. All in all, I could not be happier with a set and hopefully I will be able to buy a second one.

    Better Home & Garden Strikes Again!
    BHG Dinner set is absolutely beautiful! Wow! Better Home & Garden really knows their stuff. This 55% bamboo and 45% melamine dinnerware set is elegant yet durable. The set includes four each: cereal bowl, dinner bowl and dinner plate. The dinner bowl is more of a high sided plate. The cereal bowls are deep and ready to accept cereal, soup, salad, etc. The set is dishwasher safe, but cannot be used in the microwave. The texture of the set is awesome, inside the appearance of wood, outside a speckled stoneware look. The set arrived well packaged. I received the faux brown wood set.

    I love this set it includes 4 dishes for dinner and 4 salad bowls and 4 cereal bowls. Very nice pattern they are faux brown wood light in color. They are dishwasher safe and you can't use in microwave. I dropped one on the floor and don't break. So not breakable. Very beautiful to use everyday or outside for BBQ.

    This Better Homes and Garden bamboo melamine dinnerware set is made from at least 55% bamboo and 45% melamine. Both of which is non- toxic. The 12 piece set comes with 4 dinner plates 4 dinner bowls and 4 cereal bowls. I feel like in order to make the set complete it should come with cups too. The dinner plates and cereal bowls come with a dark blue color inside and the dinner bowls have a light blue and white marble look. It has a nice look to it when stacked together. The set is dishwasher safe how ever not microwave safe! I have only hand washed them so far. But with past experience its better to not put melamine stuff on the bottom rack!

    This melamine set is amazing! I've never seen a set with deep plates like these. They're sort of like a shallow bowl but plate size. Very very good to keep from spilling sauces, dressings, and other liquids onto my shirt which happens every time I eat it seems like! Lol! I love that they are dishwasher safe too but make sure you know that they are NOT microwave safe. That's definitely not an issue with me because I would not be microwaving stuff in them, I have bowls and pans for that. I hope you can see the pretty granite outside and bamboo look inside on my pics. Pics don't do it justice because they look even better in person!
