Sturdy Trash Can!
The BestOffice 13 Gallon Touch-Free Sensor Steel Kitchen Trash Can is absolutely sturdy! It requires 4 D batteries for the touch free feature and they are not included. Installation of the batteries is easy and then the lid lifts when you pass your hand over the sensor. You can switch off the sensor if you prefer a manual approach. Either way, the BestOffice Steel Trash Can is sleek so you can put it anywhere you need a trash can. It will look good in the kitchen, office area, bedroom, absolutely anywhere. I usually have an open top trash can and it does not look good when you see all the trash collecting inside. The smell can be overpowering, too. That is my favorite feature of this trash can because its lid hides the trash and keeps down the smells. There is a plastic ring you place over the trash bag and attach to the top of the can that keeps the bag from falling inside. Great idea!

Very slim body , definitely a modern sleek design. It seems so much smaller than my current 13 gallon can. I love the look as it matches my appliances. The only thing is that it does require 4 D batteries! As this is a new item I have no idea how quickly they die. For now loving my new can

    Best kitchen trash can ever.
    I received the BestOffice 13 gallon touch-free sensor automatic stainless steel trash can. First off, I really like the height of this can. I measured the barrel of this can to be 25 inches tall. That does not include the lid. Next thing, I really liked was the shape of the can. The shape is in between a square and a rectangle. I have had an oval shaped stainless steel trash can for a while. It was a struggle to set an empty milk jug in it. The third thing I liked, is the shape of the lid. This is where the short rectangle shape fits in. The actual opening that you throw the garbage in is approximately 8" X 8 3/4". This easily allows an empty gallon of milk to enter the can. The back end of the lid is where the 4 D size batteries are installed. No, batteries are not included with the can. And finally, the best part of this can is the touch-free lid opening. It is super nice not to have to lift the lid up when throwing trash away in the kitchen. The reason I like this is because my hands are usually messy if I am preparing food. I mean, it is a kitchen garbage can. If you are at the point, you need the lid to stay open for several minutes, there is an open button. This allows you to leave the lid open until you push the close button. It is nice to be able to have that option. One tip I can offer about this can is, don't set it near a high traffic area. Because the lid will be opening and closing even though you are not wanting to use it. So, don't set it beside a door.

    I am so excited about my new garbage can! The design and style is so sleek and modern. It looks great! My normal 13 gallon kitchen trash bags fit in it, perfectly. It’s easy to keep clean. The only complaint I have is, it takes 4 D batteries. You can turn the sensor on and off.

    BestOffice 13 Gallon Touch Free Trash Can
    I absolutely love this trash can. Yes, this trash can does feel like it is made of a thin stainless steel metal. But that doesn't bother me, for I do not intend to throw it up against the wall for fine measure, nor do I intends to hit it with a hammer to see if I can dent it or break it. I have had this for almost a week and like I said, I love it. It didn't take long to put it together, if took longer to get out of the box. It was so easy and simple to assemble. It takes 4 "D" Cell batteries. It does make a little noise when it closes. I noticed you do have to hold your hand a little closer than 6 inches for the sensor to open up. And it stays open for about 4-5 seconds then it closes. It is a much better seal than a regular trash can, I haven't seen a fly try to get in this one. There are also two buttons in from where you can manually open and close it yourself, and there is a switch at the back so you can turn the sensor off. Which is a good thing when you are trying to take the top off and empty the trash. It's easy to keep clean, I think this would make a nice house warming of gift for anyone. I know I really love mine, I give it 5 stars.

    First let me say that this Best Office 13 gallon touch free sensor automatic stainless steel kitchen trash can comes with its pros and cons. The first thing is that it is an attractive brushed stainless steel and it matches all my other kitchen appliances completely. It is smaller than I expected which would be great for smaller spaces like for dorm rooms, small apartments or other small kitchens with limited space. The part that opens is so small that you have to be very careful how you toss your trash into it. It does automatically close after a few seconds but be careful that it doesn’t close before you are ready. It does resist fingerprints for the most part so that helps with cleaning the outside. This is my first high tech trash can so I did not know what to expect. It takes four D size batteries so I wonder how long will the batteries will last. It would have been nice to have a power cord option. It is not the best quality or best built because the plastic lid is flimsy and could break easily if the lid doesn’t open and you are ready to throw a heavier item in the trash can. Placing the bags in the can in a way so that the bag does not show over the edge is a real challenge, even with the retainer ring. Overall, I would say it is of average quality. You decide.

    Love this automatic trash can
    I was happy to receive the BestOffice 13 Gallon Touch-Free Sensor Automatic Stainless-Steel Trash Can as as Spark Reviewer. There have been many times I've had my hands full of trash and not have the convenience of a trash can that opens automatically. This is a great trash can for the kitchen. You will need 4 size “D" batteries because they are not included. After using the 13 gallon draw-string bags and non draw-string bags, I feel this works best with the non draw-string bags, which are less expensive. There is a rectangle “ring” that you pull the trash bag through and fold over said “ring" to have the bag set very securely in the can. There is no trash bag falling into the can after throwing a heavy object away. Nice! I'd like to note that if you find the “ring" not fitting into the can, you need to turn the “ring” around to get it to fit. The can itself is smudge resistant stainless steel, which is attractive. This can be used manually by flipping the white toggle switch on the back of the lid to the “off" position, but, why? If you have it in the “on" position and have it open automatically, it's best to either let the lid close after a 4-5 second delay or there is a touch button in the front to close it. DO NOT try to push or force the lid closed manually while it's automatic. It could damage the lid. All in all, if used properly, this can is quite durable. I truly love this trash can. I don't know how I managed all this time without one. I recommend this for anyone.

    Smart design with a modern look
    This trash can is a great product with great features. It holds 13 gallons so it uses standard trash bags. It also looks great with it's modern look of sleek stainless steel for the body with a black hard plastic top. It's very well made, very stable and easy to clean. The body is stainless steel not plastic with a stainless steel exterior. I've found several of the plastic "counter-fits" on the market so be aware. Also, I'd like to give you a tip on cleaning stainless steel. After cleaning with soap and water you can polish it with plain old furniture polish for a great smudge free shine. The best feature of course is it's touch free opening and closing of the lid which requires 4 "D" batteries. There are actually 3 different options you can choose to open and close. The first is using the built in sensors which is motion activated to open and when it no longer senses movement it closes. Second, there buttons on the top of the can you can push to open and close the lid. This is the option I would use if throwing away something which could drip to get it in the can right away. The third option is to turn off the settings by turning off the power with the power button on the back of the can and simply open and close it by hand. This requires no battery power at all. Another great feature I would like to point out is the retainer ring which I took a picture of. The ring is a hard plastic piece and it's use is brilliant. Simply pull the trash bag through the inside of the ring. Next fold the bag over the ring and put the ring on the can opening with the bag inside the can. Keeps it nice and neat and prevents the bag from sliding down into the can. This is the best trash can I've owned and I think it would make a great gift for someone. It's practical yet innovative all in one!

    This trash can looks good. It is replacing my plastic 13-gallon trash can with a fold-down lid. This one is narrower and taller than my last trash can but still seems to hold the same amount and my 13-gallon liners fit perfectly inside it. This trash can has three parts essentially, the steel can, a plastic black "ring" that fits over the trash bag once you have inserted it, then the actual lid which rests on the ring. The trash can lid is motion operated, although you can control the open and close at the touch of a button. But it senses when someone is near and will open accordingly. I have walked by it and gotten too close and it will open, so it is pretty sensitive. The nice thing about this (as compared to other automatic trash cans) is that it will STAY open as long as you are standing in front of it. As long as it detects you standing it will remain open which is something I have found not all automatic cans do. Some will stay open for a few seconds then close automatically. The battery portion takes 4 D-batteries. I'm hoping that means that it will last awhile on those batteries because that is a bit expensive! That's not to say you couldn't use the can without the top portion, but the whole point is having the lid! The opening for the actual trash can when the lid is in place is roughly 9" wide by 8" long. I find this to be adequate for most things, but larger items may need to be folded or broken down or otherwise compressed to fit in that size. This can is narrower than my other one so I find I do have to fold cardboard pizza boxes to fit in this one where I did not have to do that with my last plastic bin that was wider but shorter.

    Attractive Automatic Stainless Steel Trash Bin
    The Best Office automatic touch free trash bin was shipped in a nice and heavy upright cardboard product box, well secured with plenty of packing tape on the top and bottom. Once opened it was secured with lot's of flat Styrofoam sheets on the top, bottom and all sides. It comes with a user manual which is easy and straight forward, it gives a description, sketch diagrams for assembly, instructions and guidelines for proper use. It is made of high quality brushed stainless steel, hard black plastic material for wear ability seems sturdy and well constructed for daily use. The trash lid opening is large enough and easy to remove or to add a fresh 13 gallon trash liner which fits perfect all the way to the bottom of the bin. There is a retainer ring that holds the trash liner in place, it is a little difficult to snap it back on the edge of the trash bin. The trash lid is tight fitting this is to help hold the kitchen odors inside the bin. It does take 4 D batteries (not included) the holder to place them is located under the trash lid. The trash bin is narrow and measures 11.37" W X 16.10" L X 25.31" H. There is a on/off button on the back of the trash bin lid it gives an option to use the automatic or manual mode. To clean the whole trash bin only use a damp cloth. Do not immerse the trash lid in water this will ruin and short out the electronic. Although this trash bin is made in China, it is practical and attractive enough to sit out and be visible. It has a stylish modern look and will upgrade any kitchen or office decor.
