Needs to be reinforced
Bought it even though I was reluctant because of this plastic piece because Berkeley backs it's product. Hope this is the case. Seems epidemic for this model. Still love all your products!

    Great rod. I see that all the bad reviews are about he plastic piece that holds the reel. Here is the way to fix it, electric tape and a zip tie(see picture). Problem solved. Totally recommend it.

    Get rid of the cheap plastic reel holder
    I bought a few of these rods because I liked the way that they felt in my hand. The Mod Fast tip was good for hook sets, but you eventually have to reel in a fish which causes the plastic real holder to break. It works good for smaller fish two pounds and under, but not for real fish 5 pounds and above as the “medium heavy” would imply. I have had many Berkeley rods and will not buy another rod that does not have metal in the reel holder. Is there any way to fix, repair, or change the reel holder?

    Defective rod seat

    Just good model, not good for reel seat
    I bought month a go, its good rod design, love it !. But i feel the weight is li'l bit heavier than another rod with same spec, but its very very disappointed with the quality of reel seat :( its crack when i assembly me reel. Very poor material, just good looking but cannot hold my reel for sure, easy to crack reel lock. Now my lightning shock just for display in my collection

    Snapped the 3rd time I used it.
    I bought this maybe a month ago, I've used it 3 times now , and the 3rd time using it , the rod snapped right under the 4th eye. This was my absolute favorite pole , and would love to give it another shot if I could get the top part replaced

    Snapped on first use!
    I have had this rod for about a month and finally got to try it out on the big water yesterday while kayaking. Upon catching my first crappie, which was maybe 2lbs, the rod snapped in half immediately!! I was so disappointed! It's a good things I had a backup rod and reel.
