Awesome product
I have purchased a number of the Back to the Roots products in the last year or so and I love each one. I love my new aquaponics system! I got my fish, Smitty, on Monday, July 5, and put the tank and grow pods together. Smitty is loving his new home :) Although it has only been four days, my greens are already growing. The trick: FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Also, if you run into any problems, Back to the Roots has wonderful and responsive customer service.

Its ok. Not very clean wster
Its OK. Water is cloudy and didnt come with gravel for bottom so its not a complete kit. But it did what it was suppose to.

    STOKED on this fish tank
    This was my second time purchasing the same tank. I love it, it's different from the older version but in all good ways with an added water sponge to block fallen seedlings and better design for the pump! Best tank ever!! Thank you Back to the Roots!

    My best Christmas present EVER
    I started my system on 1/6/21 and have had trouble-free operation since. The only thing extra needed was a small water heater. It sits on my kitchen counter on a west-facing window, which is plenty of light for microgreens, even for the Pacific NW. I have checked my tank water semi-regularly (for free at the local big-box pet store) and the water quality is always good - hence I have never changed the water, even though the recommendation is to change it every 6-8 weeks. My betta seems happy and healthy. I add tap water conditioned with Top Fin "Betta Water Conditioner" as needed, and that's it. Some green algae started growing on the tank sides, so I wiped in out with a plain magic eraser. It stirred up about of silt and algae making the water cloudy, so I was kind of disappointed. But within 2 days of circulation, the tank water was clear and the microgreen roots had captured the suspended material. I told myself it the betta lived more than 6 months, I would write a review, so here it is! You will love this product.

    Beginners aquaponics
    There was a good deal on this product in combination with Ibotta. I purchased it for my classroom to study aquaponics on a small scale level. Time will tell if the device performs to expectations.

    My son loves this!
    I got this for my son because he wanted a betta fish. I like that it's a larger tank than most betta tanks are. It really gives the fish room to move around. It was East to set up, all of the directions are clear and there is even a video that you can watch if you don't want to read. We had the tank set up in no time. The next day we went to get a fish. When we got home to put the fish in the tank the greens had already started to sprout (less than 24 hours). My son is so intrigued by the mini eco system and how it helps the plants and fish at the same time! Great educational aid and fish tank! Plus it produces food you can eat.

    Love it!
    The water garden is awesome. My kids and I enjoyed setting it up. The instructions were simple to follow. It looks really nice in our space and makes a pleasant water sound. We're really surprised by how quickly the seeds are sprouting. Can't wait to harvest our micro greens to eat on our avocado toast!
