Science fun
4M Crystal Growing Science Kit is so cool. My 9 year old daughter and I put this kit together and for days now we have been watching our crystals grow. It is a slow and fun thing to watch. This kit has made science really fun for her. The kid is pretty simple you just follow the directions exact and wait about 5 days to a week for your crystals to fully form. My daughter has really enjoyed the science aspect of this product. This product has made learning about science fun for her and now she thrives to learn more about science. I would highly recommend this for in home use or at school. Definitely need parental supervision while setting this kid up. Every morning she loves to wake up and run enter see how much her crystals have grown overnight. Devilie fun for the whole family.

Don't buy
Didn't work....waited patiently over the required 7 days and it did absolutely nothing. We followed instructions even used a thermometer to make sure of temperatures....nothing at all. Waste of $11 and disappointed kiddo.

    Small science experiment
    This mini crystal growing kit is a great product for a kid whose into science like my 8yr old. Its a super easy to use k8t that comes with three colored seeding mixtures. The red crystal was my son's favorite. You have to follow the instructions to a tee. It comes with a container that you pour water and the mixture into and it grew fairly quickly overnight. I would highly recommend. Me and my kid had fun doing this together.

    Great Activity for Any Science Lover!!
    Growing up, both me and my husband were a huge fan of science. Our 2 oldest kids (ages 7 and 9), they have both already started showing a huge interest in anything science related, therefore, I knew this would be a huge hit with them. First off, make sure you read over the instructions. This product does contain chemical components and you need to avoid contact with your body, especially the mouth and eyes. This kit comes with everything you need to grow your very own crystal. Also, keep in mind that this product is recommended for children over 10 years of age, but even then, adult supervision is advised. This kit does take time to grow the crystal, but I simply mixed everything and placed it on top of my refrigerator and gave it a week to "grow". I have done other crystal growing kits with my kids, and even though this one only allows you to grow 1 crystal, this particular one lets you choose what color you want your crystal to be, which just so happens to be my kids favorite aspect of this kit. Your crystal could result in being colored aqua blue, light blue, dark purple, deep red, light pink or crystal clear. The possibilities are amazing!! One thing to keep in mind, as I've had issues with similar ones in the past, do NOT move the beaker once you have mixed everything. Just leave it be for 1 week and you will be amazed at the result. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this kit and I feel like it would make a great gift for any science lover, kid or adult even. I would recommend this product to others.

    Educational and Intriguing!
    Fun craft for children that love science and doing projects. My girls love these type of projects. Yes, it takes 7 days for these crystals to grow nevertheless my girls loved observing the process. The instructions were somewhat easy to understand. An adult should supervise and help with measurements etc. My daughter who is a forth grader is really into crystals and science this year, especially since she is in a science club and do hands on projects. She also loved that she was able to pick the color of her crystal. Everyday she would check it's progress and was surprised at its growth. It was nice to see her so intrigued and interested in making a crystal. Therefore, I highly recommend this product because my family and I love that it's educational!

    Greetings, I am a Walmart Sparks Reviewer, and I am doing a review on the Crystal Growing Kit. Wow! This is an amazing kit, and I love it! I had such a joy creating the crystal. How cool! All of the necessary tools are included: crystal formation, solution, cup and stirring spoon. Because there is a chemical component enclosed in making these crystals, I would surely advise in wearing a pair of plastic gloves to avoid the solution from coming in contact with the skin. I also used a paper plate to set the cup on the surface. You will also need a least a cup of boiling water for the preparation. Please be careful when pouring the hot water and wear kitchen mittens as well. I love those four different colors blue, red and white, and that you can mix and make your own colors. The instructions are fairly easy, and the drawing illustrations are large enough to give you a close-up viewing on how to make the crystal. When I put the color blue into the water, it was very deep and pretty. I would like to suggest that the instructions be kept as well, because they contain a lot of Fun Facts about crystals. It would be great to have that part laminated or pasted on astro-bright colored paper for sharing. If the Fun Fact wording is too small, then you can increase the size on a copier machine. The key to this crystal growing kit is a lot of patience. This crystal growing is not something that will happen overnight. It does require at least a week for the crystal to complete its formation. I started the crystal preparation on Sunday, and this is Wednesday the fourth day. So, I observed the crystal and see that it is starting to form and shape. This is truly the best part that I love, seeing it coming to action! Now, there is nothing that I dislike about the Crystal Growing Kit. It's full of action, great fun, learning, and I really felt like a real-at-home scientist!

    Indoor fun
    I got this kit to grow crystals for my children as a fun experiment to keep them entertained during winter season and it did not disappoint. The steps are simple enough and my older son (he is 9) was able to grow these in the studio with ease. All you need is boiling water and the rest is provided in the kit.

    Nice neat box and great crysals
    I received these crystal growing kit and am very pleased with the size of the box it came in. Very happy with the crystal growing process; and the directions. I did wear gloves while doing this project. The kids loved to watch them grow- a it slowly though. I think these make a great science project or just a project for these cold indoor days.

    This is a really neat kit that is easy to use. You boil water and add the solution that comes with this kit, pour it into the provided container and wait for the crystal to grow! It was very fun to see the crystals as they started growing and they ended up being as large as the container would let them grow. If you are interested in growing crystals, this is a great kit to start with.

    STEM learning science activity fun!
    Crystal growing is fun, and an awesome way to work on and see science first hand. You do need to follow the directions exactly to make this work, so adults may need to supervise and help children who are working with this kit. We are waiting for our crystals to begin growing bigger. We've done these in the past, and it's a real test as to whether or not you follow directions as you should. I know this thing is going to grow like crazy! My 12 year old loves checking on this daily to see what progress we've made.
