Portable Air Conditioner Review
The Haier unit arrived on time and in good condition. The instructions for installing it in the side sliding window were rather incomplete. but I did get it installed. It keeps our bedroom cool, although I haven't yet tried it on a very hot night. And no water has leaked out onto the floor. We covered the blue lighted panel with a pad of paper, otherwise it's too bright. Overall it seems to be a good product.

Very disappointed
Not a good thing. Doesn't cool and smells like rotten eggs!!! Don't waste your money!! Tried it for 6 days did a lot of research discovered it has a gas leak that the factory never fixed. 100 square feet room went up6 degrees in hour and a half with cool setting on. Going to try and return it to Walmart.

    Low blow
    I went for a little more power and good deal. This name brand AC had good ratings, but with the 10000 btu of power it didn't put out the power I expected. I have it in a class room in my gym till my Ac gets fixed and it's not doing a great job. My friend has a smaller unit with same size room and it 30% better then mine.

    best results get front vents
    When making your decision to purchase a portable air conditioner look for the air vents to be in the frontvof the unit like this one. not on the top. we have two one of each kind and this unit is by far cooler than the higher btu unit we have where the vents are on the top of the unit. dont be fooled by the neigh sayers here. look for the btu size you need then for the vents to be on the front of the unit.

    I bought this product knowing it was refurbished however, I still thought it would work. I got it home, easy hook up, self explainitory and it even cooled off the house the first night, had to turn it down. The next day when it was 90°outside my living room where this product sits, the room was 87°. Even when the temperature dropped to 67°outside my living room was still 84°. Compressor wasn't working like it was suppose to. I do believe that if it wasn't refurbished, it would work just fine. Never leaks, the window seal is solid, and doesn't take up much space.

    I bought this unit so I wouldn't have an air conditioner sticking out of the window. This still vents out the window but isn't as noticeable from the outside as a regular window unit. Operation is easy and it cools very well, however it is very bulky. The hose that sticks out of the unit to the window is very large. The unit takes up alot of floor space because of the bulky hose. I would prefer to have had a ventless unit after getting this one, but if you have a very large room it may work for you. The unit is just as loud as a typical window unit, but the fan power is pretty good.

    this was not a good purchase
    I hesitated buying this but my central air is not efficient. I bought it to cool a master bedroom which isn't thatbig. box came with holes and gashes in it. One of the side panels was poking out which was able to manipulate back in place. I have 5 feet tall side sliding window switch the panels did not cover so I had to use cardboard and duct tape. after a week I had to call the repair guy because it leaked water all over my carpet. The lower drain plug is not easy to remove without tilting tools Exedra I thought it had been sheared off but he said no he also said it was new and its refurbished so. The length of a power cord in the exhaust tube really limits to where you can put this and any cold air . A lot of money to pay for something thatobviously wasn't up to standards. If I had a way to take it back to the store or to the post office I would but I have learned from this. Oh and also the vents don't move so really positioning this to get cold air is a real challenge. And they want you to have afoot at least for ventilation plus a power cord plus the exhaust tube. This unit needs to be rethought for all types of windows And the length of the exhaust tube and the power cord need to be disclosed in the ad. If my husband gets home in time this is going back or needs to be replaced by somebody coming here and leaving a unit that works. I hope Walmart read this but I'm sure they won't buyer beware

    So far so good. Really cools rooms down quickly. Easy setup and operations. Actually a better unit than I thought it would be. Can't rate it excellent, don't know what it's doing to the electrical bill.
