Great seat for a great cost!
We got the Cosco Scenera NEXT Car Seat as a second seat to put in our parents' cars and for a lightweight travel option for the future. We are already big fans of the classic Cosco Scenera car seats, so we were excited about getting a NEXT. It's a little bit wider and shorter than the standard Scenera (see picture - classic is polka dots, NEXT is zebra print). It accommodates a 40lb weight and and 40'' height restriction (as opposed to the 35lb/36'' restrictions on the classic Scenera). It also comes with a detachable cup holder, which is nice for sippy cups on the go! Here is my assessment of the NEXT: PROS: (1) It's a great car seat at a great cost point – it hits the requirements for car seat safety (all car seats on the market have to!) and is purported to have excellent crash test ratings (according to user reviews on Consumer Reports and Consumer Search). (2) It is easy to adjust the straps (much moreso than the classic). (3) It is easy to take off the cover to clean it (MUCH moreso than on the classic). (4) It's lightweight, which makes it ideal for travel. Which brings me to... (5) It meets the FAA requirements for air travel, and though we have yet to use this model on an airplane, we were extremely satisfied using the classic model on a plane, so we're hoping for nothing but good things with the NEXT! (6) It's easy enough to install (the latching system is very similar to the classic), and the new design works better at preventing it from touching the seats in front of it (car or plane). We've only ever used these seats in the rear-facing position so I can't speak to the front-facing position. (7) The zebra print is very cute! CONS: Just one - depending on your style, this could be a maker or breaker - it's a very no-frills seat. It's a hard shell with a flimsy fabric covering it - no foam, no extra padding, none of the bells and whistles that the expensive high-end brands offer. I was a bit wary at first because it doesn't look all that comfortable, but my 16-month-old is content and comfortable in it (my toddler is very tall and has more than enough room in the seat). We are very happy with our new Cosco Scenera NEXT and will continue to use this brand as a backup for our main seat and when traveling.

Delivered without a box…
This car seat was delivered to me without a BOX! I have no way of knowing if the car seat was damaged in transport or safe to use now. It was literally delivered in this plastic covering. I am going to have to return this in store now and purchase a different one as I cannot trust that it is safe to use.

    It arrived in a box with no plastic covering like they are in the store. It could have easily been damaged if the box got wet. Other than that it was a quick delivery and in good condition.

    Damaged and feels uncomfortable for baby.
    Bottom of car seat arrived damaged making it unusable safety wise. There was no packaging in the box to protect the car seat. The seat itself feels like it would be uncomfortable as well. I would have only been using it short term for my son, definitely not a good car seat to get long term. Returned it and purchased one from Safety 1st.

    I love it
    As of now i love it today was my first time using it for my 1yr old and she seems to love it also cause she's not sitting low like she was in her newborn carseat. I had to get on youtube to see how to fix the straps for her size and how to loose and tighten them and everything worked out just fine. Also i had to really tighten the seat down in my vehicle with the vehicle belt because it was moving but once i got it tight it didnt move at all

    Grandlittle and I love Mickey car seat
    Perfect car seat for Mickey lover! Holds eight months perfect, weighing 20 pounds. As easy to install as any other car seat. Will need to set up more erect as she gets a little older, which will require removal and re-installation. Seems sturdy enough for Nanas car.

    just the right size
    I got this for my one yr old granddaughter. it's a vibrant pink. just her size. it's not heavy at all. I got tired of sharing a car seat with her mom lol it was a lot of work moving the car seat plus everything else when she came over so... I finally got one to stay in my car.

    We love this car seat
    My son loves Mickey and needed a larger car seat that was still rear facing -we love this one ! It was easy to install and seems more comfortable to him now thats hes grown more - hes 1 year old , 22 lb and 30 inches tall and has plenty of room to grow !

    I used this car seat to fly on Southwest. I was able to use the tether strap to hang it on my stroller's handlebar through the airport. It's very lightweight and easy to handle. We also used it in the car while on vacation. My child flew so much better in this car seat than she does as a lap child. She's usually a complete nightmare on flights. Having her strapped down helped so much.

    Nothing fancy
    The pattern on the car seat that I got is the Pink RealTree, which is really cute. I didn't like that the padding is not very thick; I can't imagine it would be comfortable for very long, and I'm not sure why the company boasts about the 'side padding' because it isn't any thicker than the rest of the padding. The straps were a bit complicated (no fun at all to put them in). I like that it comes with a detachable cup holder, even though it's not very wide. The plastic base and the straps seem durable and of good quality. I think that the padding should have been thicker to make it more comfortable, especially for when going on long car trips for vacation, but other than that it's an ok car seat if you're looking for something affordable yet safe. I would recommend this car seat to others. I would say maybe you could put a very small thin blanket on the bottom to make it a bit softer for the child, BUT only if you could do it without compromising safety.
