Great alternative to ActiveLink (Weight Watchers)
After some back and forth, I decided to try this in replacement to weight watchers. After just a day, I was sold! Using this with both the Fitbit app and tracking food with myfitnesspal, I have been able to lose weight better than I recently have with weight watchers. It is easy to use, and even tracks your sleep. The only downer is that it is not waterproof, but is water resistant (basically, not to be worn while swimming). Highly recommend this product!

Don't buy!
I can't say how this product works since I couldn't get past step one. Charging. It would not charge. After going to the Fitbits Facebook page and googling solutions, I found this is an ongoing issue with ALL flexbit models. The charging port just does not provide a tight enough fit for the product to charge. The company is aware of the problem but isn't addressing. I returned mine and I have ordered a different product. There are MANY other options. Do your research before you order ANY fitbit product. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT WORTH IT.

    Great Motivator
I was at a point where I wasn't losing or gaining weight and was at a stalemate. I had been seeing ads for the fitbit and thought it might be worth it to take a chance on it. I decided on the Flex just because I like wristband style so I can put it on and forget it. After the first day I don't even realize that I am wearing it, and the only time I take it off is to charge the battery, which for me is only about every 6 days. The Flex seems to be fairly accurate on steps taken and distance walked. The sleep monitor feature is nice, well, it tells me how much sleep I am not getting! The last cool thing about the Flex is I linked the Flex with My Fitness Pal app so keeping up with calories and exercise is now much easier. I now find myself parking a little farther away and walking and just being more motivated to get up and be more active. If you like gadgets and need some motivation the Flex for what it is and for the price is a good deal.

    Everything I wanted!
I waited for awhile to review this product because so many of these activity monitors start out great and end up having many problems. It has only been 2 weeks, so if it continues like this I will be ecstatic! It was very easy to setup, syncing with my MAC, IPHONE or IPAD has been easy. The Flex has performed as claimed. I had a little checking to do on the tapping for sleep, etc but that was simple once I read thru the steps. I have left it on in the shower and it has been fine. At this point I have even decided to start using the food logging on the app. The reports are easy to review, comprehensive and easy to make changes to. I did have the UP (2nd gen) for about a year and a half and although the band was great when working, it was always presenting issues. I had to have it replaced within the first few months and then the new one always need something done to get it to sync again. I am glad that I decided on the FLEX and hope it continues to perform as it does now. I would definitely recommend buying this for people who want the extra motivation sometimes necessary to move more and stay in shape.

    Great motivation
I initially bought this to not only track my steps, but because it's also a sleep tracker. It's great motivation, but because it has to sync up with your computer, it's hard to see your progress through the app as the day progresses. It has encouraged me to take more steps daily, drink more water (because of the app), and to work towards having a better sleep schedule. Some good things are: band is comfortable, it is water resistant, the app is a great tool to track your water and food consumption. The draw backs are, as mentioned above, it does not sync with the app unless you're near the USB plug. It makes it harder to track the total amount of steps you've taken while you're out and about. If you use your hands/arms a lot while standing or sitting, it will give you an inaccurate reading. In an hour and a half of delivering newspapers, it said I had taken over 12,000 steps. Some reviews have stated that it doesn't do as good as a job as the Fitbit One, I just see it as a way of encouraging you to take more steps towards being healthy.

    great product
was a bit reserved when I purchased this as a gift and wasn't sure it would meet my expectations, however it proved me wrong. Comes with 2 different size bands and easy to read instructions that you download. Performs more tasks than I initially thought. I will be purchasing another one for myself.

So far it's a motivating tool.
Just started wearing this today with my fiance as we attempt to get in shape for the wedding day. I like watching myself make it towards a goal motivates me to do a little extra, walk a little further, burn a few more calories and stay aware of how much or how LITTLE I am actually moving. As day one neared midnight and the close of a challenge I found myself dancing and pacing at work trying to hurry up and burn my remaining calories for the day which is exactly what I wanted the fitbit to make me do. I bought this in replacement of my bodybugg which had an ugly bulky design and couldn't get wet and required a monthly or annual subscription in order to sync your info so it was a constant expense and pretty temperamental, requiring charging daily as opposed to once a week like the fitbit. I love that the fitbit website is FREE but does have the option to upgrade to premium service for extras but is not required to use the fitbit flex. I sync using my Galaxy S4 and it works well. Fiance syncs through a Note II without a problem so we're both androids couldn't tell ya how it works with iPhone. We have had trouble when we're in the same room trying to sync (and set up the fitbit) b/c the "dongle" finds both fitbits and errors so it will tell you to move the other one away... meaning I had to send honey into the other room during set up of mine! Fiance's complaint is leaving your bluetooth connection on the phone drains phone battery faster-- however it is not necessary to be syncing all day you can avoid the drained battery by only turning the bluetooth on to sync when you want it to. The info won't be lost in the meantime. I also don't like that the fitbit is such a pain to put on-- the "clasp" part is really annoying I will probably never take it off but once a week when it needs charging just to avoid this. I pinched fiances wrist on accident trying to put it on b/c it has to be squeezed so hard to stay put. Luckily the battery lasts 5 days without charging and that's the only time it needs to come off. Fitbit managed to last through a shower which I was skeptical about doing-- but I've read reviews warning against swimming with it on even though the website says you can lap swim just not dive-- but I won't risk it!! The sleep tracking I did not get to work today =/ which was a bummer but I'm new to it so hoping it was just a newbie error, fortunately I could still tell from my movement graph how often I tossed and turned even without the sleep tracker working. The wake up vibration isn't strong enough to wake me up so I wouldn't recommend using it as your sole alarm clock unless you're just cat napping. The "steps" counter can be inaccurate-- could easily just flap your arms crazy and make it appear you ran a mile so it's not going to stop a cheater from cheating! ;) There are a lot of little hidden features already default set that you have to make sure you change-- like calorie estimator which will assume what it thinks you burned based on your previous activities recorded and your basal metabolic rate rather than what you are actually doing. If you want it to show solely what you burned based on your actual movements you have to turn that feature off. There's a nice online community allowing you to talk to other fitbit users across the country or even locals who encourage each other and even have group exercise meetings which was a delightful bonus (much cheaper than weight watchers!!). You can challenge other users and invite friends as well as share your goals and accomplishments to other fitbit users and on social media. Great tools for accountability!! The challenges to get "badges" and seeing yourself near a goal are motivating it's like being in a daily race with yourself. The fitbit comes with a small and a large band and the tracking part can be moved between the 2 easily. This was a bonus for us b/c my fiance wears the large size and I am wearing the small size, and since we ordered separate colors (black & slate) thinking we would get them confused we both now have a band in both colors so we're not stuck with one color. The "slate" color looks blue by the way!! What could have made it better: If it like the "fitbit force"-- which walmart does not sell and according to reviews has already stopped production; had the time displayed on it like a watch. Since it is worn all the time and it is worn wear your watch would normally go-- forcing u to either double up or wear something on both wrists it's awkward. People will assume its a watch and ask you for the time and look at ya crazy when you say you don't know. haha Overall it's a motivating TOOL. It's not going to make you lose weight just by wearing it but if you are motivated by accountability, challenges, deadlines, rewards (via badges of honor), or the failures of not hitting your own preset goals you will like this. I personally hate trying to track my exercise, calories, intake etc so it's nice to have something doing it for me. Also nice that you can sync from a smart phone and see where you stand without waiting until you get home or to a computer. It does what you expect of it and the online dashboard and community is a bonus. I plan to get the fitbit aria scale that works with this system to help me track body fat loss so I like that these products work together seamlessly. I'd recommend it to a motivated friend!

Not just a weight loss tool- It's a Health Guide
This is truly a tool designed for more than just weight loss! It's an honest picture of your daily activity and how well you sleep at night, or don't! I have a friend who bought this to try to help her lose weight. She couldn't get past go with weight loss no matter what she tried. She started paying attention to their sleep activity, due to feeling tired all the time. Showed the results to her doctor and found out she had severe sleep apnea. That was the key to not only her fatigue, but her weight too, because she wasn't getting adequate sleep. I bought one as a result, and love it! If you're honest about your intake, this shows you where you are between your intake and calories burned. Bought this one for family for Christmas.

    I really like my Fitbit
Very easy to get started. Not much to do at all. For tracking sleep, I couldn't figure out how to set the Fitbit before going to sleep. It's not a problem though, I just write down the time I went to sleep and when I got up. Then in the morning I enter the information and immediately the results are shown. The Fitbit syncs wirelessly when I am close to my laptop. It shows me my activity any hour of the day by logging into the program. Couldn't find a place on the program to print out a daily total. I used my browser print function and the page doesn't look as professional as I would like. All and all though I am glad I purchased the Fitbit.

    I track everything with FITBIT
I linked my FItbit with My Fitness Pal Track calories and steps and sleep. Which is everything i need to stay on track with my fitness goals. Great product. The app syncs with my phone automatically. its great. and its waterproof so the only time it come off is when i need to charge it. Which is about every 5 days. and it takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge.
